Atypical performance

Basic information

Meeting the often conflicting demands of contemporary architecture can be realised with typical, standard solutions, but with difficulty. Emotions, design and space form part of the environments of today's modern buildings. Reaching this impressive aim is further dependant on complying with individually specified technical and financial limits that arise from a particular project.

The simplest case of non-standard design are atypical dimensions, ie products with a different height, width or length of the trench. Another atypical solution is non-standard shapes where the convector mirrors the shape of the facade. Convectors with a fan speed controller located within the trench represents a new variant with a significant simplification of the electrical connection.

Parapet design floor convector designs offer bespoke installations with non-standard location of the trench to heat the displaced air.

Floor convectors with a supply of outside air, subsequently heated, can be used for forced ventilation systems.

Pool design floor convectors enable installation in environments with high humidity.

XXL atypical length means floor convectors with a significantly higher length than the maximum length of the standard version.

Convector design with the option of installation with mechanical fixing in spaces without poured concrete floors (eg. Raised floor).

Atypical sizes

The reasons for producing floor convectors non-standard sizes are technical and design. Reducing the dimensions of the flooring brings the requirement to minimize the height of the trench and trying to get the maximum performance leads to optimal utilisation of the floor space and therefore customisation of the length and width of the floor convector to match the specific interior design parameters. In a nutshell, the requirement for an aesthetically pleasing floor convector dictates its size and shape .

Atypical shapes

An example of an atypical installation would be a underfloor convector in a corner or along the angled facade or following the curved line of the interior wall. The angle of two adjacent floor convectors may range from 1 to 179 °. A special case is the corner design with an angle of 90 °, where the downstream end of the convector trench is made at an angle of 45 °, or is inserted between a straight line and an odd corner. Production of an atypical shape is carried out only after approval of drawings by the customer. Measuring atypical shapes on site is available on request.

Other atypical options

Another variant is a trench with grille but without heating function which can used as a design feature and link two adjacent floor convectors or as an optical continuation of the floor convector.

Atypical grilles

To all non-standard and atypical variants of floor convectors (see Atypical versions of convectors p. 30), there are also appropriate atypical grilles. Where there is a requirement to minimize the height of the floor convector we can offer atypical grating height reduction with aluminum alloy plate (15 mm instead of 20 mm), stainless steel (10 mm instead of 20 mm) or wooden slats from 10 to 20 mm as required. We can also supply grilles powder coated in any RAL colour. In such an cases colour stability is guaranteed but not resistance to abrasives. For other requirements, consult our technical department.

Angled grilles

Angled designs can be supplied on request. Production of an atypical shape is carried out only after approval of drawings by the customer. On-site measurements available on request. Covering grilles come divided - 2 x straight and 1 x corner piece.
